چکیده

An analysis is given of the spectral properties of perturbations of the magnetic bi-harmonic operator ∆A in L(R), n=2,3,4, where A is a magnetic vector potential of Aharonov-Bohm type, and bounds for the number of negative eigenvalues are established. Key elements of the proofs are newly derived Rellich inequalities for ∆A which are shown to have a bearing on the limiting cases of embedding theorems for Sobolev spaces H(R).

Semi-classical Asymptotics for the Counting Functions and Riesz Means of Pauli and Dirac Operators with Large Magnetic Fields

We study the asymptotic behavior, as Planck’s constant ~ → 0, of the number of discrete eigenvalues and the Riesz means of Pauli and Dirac operators with a magnetic field μB(x) and an electric field. The magnetic field strength μ is allowed to tend to infinity as ~ → 0. Two main types of results are established: in the first μ~ ≤ constant as ~ → 0, with magnetic fields of arbitrary direction; t...

Biharmonic Capacity and the Stability of Minimal Lagrangian Submanifolds

We study the eigenvalues of the biharmonic operators and the buckling eigenvalue on complete, open Riemannian manifolds. We show that the first eigenvalue of the biharmonic operator on a complete, parabolic Riemannian manifold is zero. We give a generalization of the buckling eigenvalue and give applications to studying the stability of minimal Lagrangian submanifolds in Kähler manifolds. MSC 1...

Evaluation of Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Electromagnetic Fields and Their Probable Relationship with Hematological Changes among Operators in Heavy Metal Industry

Introduction: It is important that biological and health effects from the induction of currents and fields in the body by extremely low frequency (ELF) fields are fully explored to determine the effects produced at the molecular, cellular and organ levels. The objective of this study was to evaluate the intensity of ELF electromagnetic fields and its probable relationship with hematological cha...
